‘Be still, and know that I am God’
Psalm 46:10a

Everyone knows this verse. We’ve seen it on calendars of peaceful streams, heard it preached on, sung it in a worship song, maybe memorised it as children.

But have you ever really thought about what it means? Knowing that HE is God. I think this verse is wonderful for showing us that when we are stressed out and worrying about things, we need to just take a moment to remind ourselves that HE is God. It is not up to us to control our lives, or make things work out. HE is God.

So let Him be God. Let Him be who He is! Don’t try and set yourself up in His place (you know that’s an extremely dangerous experiment to try, right?). He holds the future (Eph. 1:5), He rules (Zec. 9:10), He is on the throne (Psalm 45:6) and His faithfulness is great (Lam. 3:23).

Rest and be still in the knowledge that HE is God.
