When was the last time you prayed a prayer which was only thanking God? Not praise before a request, or thanks at the end of a list; but just a simple thanksgiving. Try it, you will soon see how hard it is not to let requests sneak in.

The Psalms are full of instructions to give thanks (Psalm 30:4, 29:7, 95:2, 96:2, 100:4, 118:1 and 147:7 to name a few!) The psalmists were so grateful to the God we (and they) serve. When you actually stop and think about it we have everything to be thankful for! If you scribble down a quick list of things o be thankful for it is often how surprising how long it will become!

No matter how you’re feeling, there is always something to praise God about. 1 Thess 5:8 tells us to “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ for you.”

I ask you, please, be a little more grateful to the God who has given us everything!
