Quote of the Week

'Too often holiness has been understood in purely negative terms: a holy man is a man who doesn't tell lies; a holy man is a man who doesn't get angry for no reason; a holy man is a man who doesn't steal; a holy man is a man who doesn't talk in an unwholesome way.

'Paul would say that's only half. That's only the preparation...Yes those things must be put away, but a holy man is a man who actually speaks truth. A holy man is a man who seeks reconciliation. A holy man is a man who works with his own hands and gives generously to others. A holy man is a man whose every word is for the good of others. A holy man is a man whose life is full of kindness and compassion and who is constantly sacrificing himself for the good of others. A holy man imitates God in all these things.'
